Reference Guide: 7.5 Import Transcription
Audio Notetaker now supports the import of Transcriptions from several sources.
Go to Import → Import Transcription where you can choose to import *.txt, *.rtf and *.JSON (Speechmatics only)
- Speechmatics
- Other Text Imports
If you have the audio and transcription outside of Audio Notetaker then you can import just the audio and we automatically add the text and add new sections for every speaker. The audio file and transcription *.JSON file must have the same name and be in the same folder.
If you use Audio Notetaker to record and edit the audio before sending to Speechmatics for transcription, then you can import just the text file: Go to Import → Import Transcription and locate the transcription *.JSON file. The text will be added to the existing sections in your project based on the time codes for each section.
You can use Import → Import Transcription to import any *.txt or *.rtf files. All the text in those files will be added to the first section of your project. You can use Push Text or Copy and Paste to move the text into the correct sections. You can also use the special characters $% to indicate where section breaks occur in your transcription. When importing text Audio Notetaker looks for these characters and will automatically break the text transcription across sections. The transcription service we previously trialled has now been removed.
